The Real Nature of Agoth

PDF Print E-mail

The rise of Agoth and how this entity came about is documented elsewhere within this Library; the bulk of this detail will not be repeated here.  Suffice it to say that Agoth, whilst powerful and with a mind of its own, is in reality nothing more than a parasite, the product of a Device (which is referred to as Agoth) that has been attached to the ancient power of the Void, by the skills and manipulations of the leaders of the Dymwan Cadre.  It was never originally intended to become a thoughtform but developed its own consciousness due to the manipulation of the Void and the manner of its creation.  Whilst it is not under the direct control of any of the people who contributed to make it, it does contain a large proportion of their consciousness and is therefore susceptible to their influence.

The Ritual of Sundering

PDF Print E-mail

The Ritual of Sundering is an extremely powerful ritual that the followers of Agoth, in particular his Vere, use to enable the Realm of Agoth to merge with another place.  The ritual opens up a portal directly to the Void, which allows the all life consuming essence of the Void to seep out and encompass the area surrounding the portal.  How much area is covered is dependent upon the strength of the ritual and the creature performing it, as well as any other enhancements in place – normally it would cover a maximum of 100 square miles, although it has managed to swallow an entire plane before. Once the merging has taken place all life over the area covered is stripped bare and any Souls taken feed the nearest Soul Gardens.

Soul Gardens

PDF Print E-mail

Soul Gardens are places of power located within the Void.  These are relatively new constructs of which there are currently thirty two.  They were first constructed some dozen or so years ago and were created by the Necromancer Gill and the Enchanter Tiresias.  These gardens were designed to draw wandering spirits and trap them within; there appears to be little logic of what type of spirits are drawn to specific Soul Gardens.  The strength of a Soul Garden is dependent on how many sprits it contains and the type.
